This year the watch brand Mühle-Glashütte has every reason to celebrate. For 2014 marks both the 145th anniversary of the founding of the company by Robert Mill and the 20th anniversary of the new founding of the family business by Hans-Jürgen Mühle. For this double jubilee the Glashütter Traditionsmarke presents an exclusive special edition consisting of three models with own manufactory calibers. Named after the founder of the company, this limited edition is the start of the new manufacturing line "R. Mill & Son ".

The three special edition models Robert Mühle Auf / Ab GOLD, Robert Mühle Auf / Ab and Robert Mühle Kleine seconds reflect in many details the moving history of the family business. Founded in 1869 by Robert Mühle in Glashütte, the company initially produced precision measuring instruments for the domestic watch industry and the watchmaking school. Despite all the historical challenges, the company has always been committed to the precise measurement tradition - also through a severe economic crisis, two expropriations and 45 years of socialism. Since its founding in 1994, Glashütte has been manufacturing high-quality wrist watches and nautical instruments at Altenberger Straße 35. With the three models of the Robert Mühle special edition, the company is now proposing another chapter in the 145-year chronicle.

This is above all the movements of the manufactory line "R. Mühle & Sohn ": the Robert Mühle calibers RMK 01 and RMK 02.

The manual winding mechanism of the Robert Mühle small second and the works of the other two models extended by an up / down module were designed by the Uhrmachern von Mühle-Glashütte in the spirit of classical Glashütter watchmaking. This is the first time that an engraved balance cock and screwed gold chronometers are found in these mill clock movements.

In the case of fine regulation and the deck board, the manufactory calibers have their own ways. As is the case with all Mühle watches, the especially shock-resistant and patented ball valve control is used here. The deck board was also designed as a three-panel board with a separate cock for the anchor wheel. In these details, the company's affinity to one's own tradition - and the family seat in Glashütte.

In the classically elegant Robert Mühle on / Ab GOLD the carrier is found in the time of the company founder. The elegant, 44-millimeter measuring 18 karat red gold case makes the elegant frame for an exciting time travel. The traditionally designed dial with the red minute / second digits around the railway minutiae as well as the Roman hour digits recall Glashütter pocket watches. This impression is also supported by the multi-varnished dial, whose special treatment lends it depth and the traditional enamel look. The pointers matched to the red gold case make this tribute to Robert Mühle and to the family tradition perfect.

The Robert Mill Up / Down GOLD honors the entrepreneur spirit of the family mill. Through all the historical circumstances, the tradition of precise measurement has been held up to this day. This timepiece also expresses a special situation: the family-owned company is the only Glashütter watchmaker, who is still owned by an old-established glass family. The family tradition of the family is reflected in the design of the special edition with elements from all phases of the company's history. Both the design of the timepiece and the manufactory caliber RMK 01 thus elegantly set elements of the Glashütter tradition - such as the classical pocket watches, The up / down complication at 12 o'clock or the choice of a rare kind of the glash mother deck boards, the three-ply board. The case with the fine-lined bezel as well as the large decentralized small seconds also reminds of the marine chronometers that have been produced by Mühle-Glashütte since 1994.
